New Year Greating of the Ambassador of the EU
中欧关系是当今世界最重要的双边关系之一。去年，双方在多个领域进一步实现了互利共赢。其中，在巴黎气候变化大会上，双方共同致力于应对气候变化，并承诺为全人类的未来而努力实现低碳发展；此外，中欧投资协定谈判也取得了重大进展。2016年对全面推进包括政治、经济和人文关系在内的中欧双边关系至关重要。我诚挚地希望2016年中欧关系将更加紧密，并衷心祝愿中国人民在新的一年里身体健康、万事如意、阖家幸福。祝大家猴年大吉！

The EU-China relationship is one of the most important in the world. Last year saw much progress in several areas of mutual interest, particularly regarding climate change mitigation at COP21 and pledges towards a more sustainable low-carbon future for all of us who share this one planet, as well as negotiations on an ambitious and comprehensive EU-China investment agreement. 2016 will be a key year to further enhance our relations on all fronts, including political, economic and people-to-people contacts. I sincerely hope 2016 will bring our two peoples even closer together and I wish all our Chinese friends good health and prosperity for you and your families. Happy New Year of the Monkey!
