值此2016年春节之际，我祝愿各位在即将到来的猴年里身体健康，事业兴旺，心想事成。
2016年正值东帝汶与中国建交14周年纪念。在过去的14年中，两国人民在教育、旅游、文化艺术等多个角度开展了全方位交流，加深对彼此的了解并建立起深厚的友谊。借此机会，我向《世界中国》杂志社表示诚挚的感谢，感谢他们为增进各国人民对中国的了解所做出的贡献并祝愿世界各地的华人朋友新春快乐！

On this occasion of the 2016 Chinese Spring Festival, I wish you a healthy, prosperous and well-accomplished Year of Monkey.
Since Timor-Leste and China established diplomatic relationship in 2002, people from the two countries have implemented comprehensive communications and understanding through education, tourism, cultural and art exchanges, etc. and developed profound friendship in the past 14 years. I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to “The World and China” magazine for their contribution to the mutual understanding between China and the world and wishing the Chinese people around the world a happy new year!
